Family Medicine - Board Certified

Dr. Truong graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  She attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr Truong clinical interests include preventive medicine, management of chronic conditions, behavioral medicine, pediatric and women’s health.  She focuses on the prevention of complications of obesity to include diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol and heart disease.  Her dedication to patient care and sharp clinical acumen earned her the Lamar Ross Clinical Excellence Award in 2019.  She is Board Certified in Family Medicine. 

Dr. Truong is passionate in delivering high-quality patient care to all ages.  She is a strong advocate for evidence base medicine integrated with a body-mind approach.

Whether it be acute illnesses like the flu, skin infection or chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, allergic rhinitis, she helps her patients come up with a specific plan unique to each individual and empowers them to reach their goal.  Using motivational interview to draw out the positives in patients, she helps them make healthy choices and achieve wellness.  She believes health care is a partnership between patients and physicians and experiences great satisfaction in forming these long-lasting relationships.  

When not seeing patients, she enjoys raising her daughter with her wonderful husband and spending time with her family and friends.  Her hobbies are music, aerobic exercises, traveling and discovering other cultures.  Dr. Truong is fluent in English and Vietnamese, and CI Medical Center's staff are fluent in English, Vietnamese and Spanish.
